This is a very hard film to watch. Especially since it’s based on a true story. It shows the brutality of slavery and the outcome if one’s freedom is taken away. Although the world is now aware of the inhumanity and injustice of racism, slavery and abduction; unfortunately they still exists…and that’s the saddest part. The day each individual realizes that we are all equals and created by one being, is the day unity and peace will truly come into this world. It’s no surprise this film garnered the most awards at the recently concluded Oscars. And if you’re wondering why, then by all means; go see this film and come out of it thankful for your freedom. 4 Stars for my 8th film this 2014.
